Today, Ofwat confirmed that our Group’s position is improving across all our businesses of South West Water, Isles of Scilly, Bristol, Bournemouth and SES Water. This reflects the progress we are making, but we know there is more to do.
We are making significant strides in several key areas. SES Water continues to be the best performer in the industry for drinking water quality for the third consecutive year, demonstrating our commitment to consistently delivering high standards.
For customers in Devon and Cornwall we protect their homes more than any other water company as a top performer for internal sewer flooding for four years.
We are proud of the recognition given to our customer engagement efforts, with South West Water’s initiatives to reduce customer water usage standing out as an effective way to promote sustainability. Bristol Water’s improvement in customer satisfaction, as reflected in its C-MeX score, further shows that our plans are delivering results for our customers.
Although we have some of the lowest levels of serious pollutions across the sector know there’s more to do and we are tackling these issues as a priority.
Our strategy focuses on long-term resilience and environmental responsibility, with significant investments made to safeguard future water supplies. We have enhanced spending to address infrastructure needs and secure water resources, particularly in response to challenges posed by drought - this work has improved our water resources position with storage in Cornwall at the highest level in 12 years.
We are on the right path, but we know there is more work to be done. Pennon is investing record £1bn over 2 years across our businesses and will continue to prioritise doing what is right for our customers, communities and the environment.
