Pennon has cemented its place as a trailblazer for female representation by being shortlisted for the INSEAD Alumni Balance in Business Awards 2024.
The awards showcase the FTSE 350 companies which have the best gender balance at executive level, as well as those leading the way through innovation to level the playing field in the workplace.
Organisers say they are impressed by the depth of Pennon’s commitment to gender balance in a traditionally male industry, with the company’s top leadership positions both held by women – Susan Davy (Chief Executive) and Gill Rider (Chair).
Pennon is also one of a few FTSE-listed entities where women on the Board outnumber their male counterparts, setting a bold example for wider corporate inclusivity.
The recognition comes after the Exeter-based company last month claimed bronze for the best performers in Women on Boards within the entire FTSE 250 – proudly demonstrating its commitment to diversity and to inspire future female leaders.
Adele Barker, Pennon Group’s Chief People Officer, said: “We’re delighted to once again be featuring in the Balance in Business Awards, which is testament to how much we value equality and diversity within our workplace.
“We’re proud to be one of a select few FTSE 350 companies to have both a female CEO and Chair, and we hope this can inspire more women to consider leadership roles in the future as we continue to champion corporate inclusivity.”
Pennon was commended in last year’s Balance in Business Awards, featuring alongside Marks and Spencer, Tesco and HSBC.
