Pennon named among the UK’s top environmental performers

17 Dec 2025

Pennon has been recognised as one of the UK’s leading environmental companies after achieving top scores in this year’s global Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) assessments for both climate action and water stewardship.

The Group secured an A rating for climate, earning a place on CDP’s prestigious A-List and putting Pennon in the top 4% of companies worldwide. Pennon also received an A- score for water, recognising strong leadership in protecting water quality and the natural environment.

These results reflect the real progress Pennon is making to cut carbon, improve rivers and coastlines, and build long-term environmental resilience across the business.

Building on this progress, Pennon has now formally adopted the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) a global framework that helps organisations understand and report how their activities affect nature.

While Pennon has voluntarily aligned with TNFD guidance for the past four years, full adoption marks a deeper, long-term commitment to managing nature-related risks and opportunities across the Group.

Pennon’s approach was recently recognised at a TNFD event in São Paulo, Brazil, ahead of COP30, where the company was acknowledged as one of more than 730 organisations worldwide committed to transparent nature reporting.

Susan Davy, Chief Executive Officer of Pennon, said:

“This recognition matters because it reflects the hard work happening across our business every day from cutting carbon and investing in renewables, to restoring landscapes and improving water quality. Being named on CDP’s A-List and strengthening our commitment to nature transparency shows that our plans are delivering real progress, not just promises. We know there is more to do, and we’re determined to keep raising the bar, working with partners, communities and regulators to protect the environment now and for the long term.”

Pennon’s latest CDP scores and adoption of TNFD mark an important step in the Group’s environmental journey, reinforcing transparency, accountability and long-term sustainability.
